Are you a UI designer or developer that struggles to explain to people what we do in a way that they can understand? This happens to me as well!

In this video, I explain in layman’s terms what a UI designer does by using an analogy from tree-felling.  A tree-feller transforms a complex and dangerous blown-over tree into manageable pieces… similar to what UI designers do for their users!

I also explain some basic techniques that UI designers use to solve design problems.

If you are a UI designer, this video also has some nice reminders about what we really do for users: transform complexity into something they can understand and enjoy interacting with.
